winery
and
estate
vineyards
(pronounced
Clo
dew
Bwah)
are
located
in Alexander
Valley,
in the
northern
part
of the
Sonoma
County
wine
region.
Over
the
years,
we find
our
signature
wine
style
has
developed
around
the
characteristics
of the
grapes
grown
in this
region,
which
are
known
for
round
and
supple
flavors,
creating
elegant,
smooth,
approachable
wines.
Clos
du Bois
wines
enjoy
a similar
reputation.
Our
wines
have
a natural
affinity
with
food,
complementing,
rather
than
overwhelming
food
flavors.
Our
Estate
includes
925
vineyard
acres
in
Alexander
Valley.
In
addition
to
our
Estate
vineyards,
Clos

grapes
from
nearly
200
growers
in
other
Sonoma
County
appellations,
including
Dry
Creek
Valley,
Russian
River
Valley,
Chalk
Hill,
Carneros
and
Knights
Valley.
The

of
our

Marlstone
Meritage
Since
1978,
Marlstone
has
been
produced
from
a
specific
block
of
designated
Alexander
Valley
vineyards.
Originally,
Marlstone
was
a
blend
of
Cabernet
Sauvignon
and
Merlot
until
the
more
recent
introduction
of
several
other
Bordeaux
varieties
—
Malbec,
Petit
Verdot
and
Cabernet
Franc.
In
the
spring,
after
all
the
red
wines
have
completed
malolactic
fermentation
and
have
been
racked
several
times,
we
evaluate
the
samples
of
each
wine
from
the
Marlstone
vineyard
and
determine
which
ones
exhibit
the
rich
flavors
and
elegant
balance
that
are
the
hallmark
of
Marlstone.
The
varietal
makeup
of
the
blend
differs
from

to
vintage.
