SURROUNDED
BY VINEYARDS
tumbling
to the
western
shore
of New
York's
Seneca
Lake,
Glenora
Wine
Cellars
is a
leader
in the
renaissance
of regional
American
winemaking.
GLENORA
was
founded
in 1977
shortly
after
the
passage
of New
York's
Farm
Winery
Bill.
Glenora
achieved
instant
acclaim
in wine
circles
when
its
initial
vintage
won
several
medals
at the
New
York
State
Fair
Commercial
Wine
Competition.
Constantly
expanding
and
refining
it's
product
line,
Glenora
had,
by the
end
of its
first
decade,
grown
from
a farm
winery
to a
commercial
producer
and
from
recognition
as a
top
New
York
winery
to recognition
by The
Wine
Spectator
as one
of the
world's
top
wineries.
SINCE
its
creation
in
1977,
Glenora
has
grown
from
an
annual
production
of
5,000
cases
to
40,000
in
recent
years.
In
1987,
the
winery
under
took
a
major
expansion
to
accommodate
increased
production
of
top
quality
champagnes
and
premium
table
wines
using
the
finest
grapes
from
New
York's
wine
growing
regions.
GLENORA
currently
produces
classic
Vinifera
wines
from
Chardonnay,
Pinot
Noir,
Riesling
and
Cabernet
as
well
as
Methode
Champenoise
sparkling
wines.
It
is
one
of
the
largest
producers
of
Vinifera
and
Methode
Champenoise
wines
in
the
Eastern
United
States.
The
wines
are
principally
marketed
in
the
Northeast.
THE
LARGEST
PLANTINGS
of
Vinifera
grapes
in
the
Finger
Lakes
lie
within
the
vineyard
sites
of
Seneca
Lake
and
are
available
to
Glenora's
winemaker.
In
addition,
we
have
contracts
with
the
finest
wine
grape
growers
on
Long
Island
to
supplement
the
Finger
Lakes'
crop
and
insure
a
successful
vintage.
GLENORA
WINE
CELLARS
has
long
been
a
company
with
traditional
roots,
a
vision
for
the
future
and
innovative
plans
to
make
that
vision
a
reality.
