France : Muscadet

Muscadet: The eponymous wine of the region, Muscadet, is neutral in flavor, very dry, yet high in acid. It is also low in alcohol, which makes it the perfect accompaniment to the local oysters and shellfish. The one with the most character is Muscadet de S?e et Maine. Look for the notation "sur lie" on the bottle, which means the wine has been left on its lees in the tank or barrel, creating flavor and richness.
