	Rated 90 The corresponding 2004 Kaseler Nies’chen Riesling Spatlese smells strikingly of a cinnamon-tinged, lightly cooked strawberry and red currant compote. Creamy, rich, honeyed and subtly spiced even as it is elegant and buoyant on the palate, this finishes with noble suggestions of botrytis and lightly-cooked orchard and red fruits. The acids seem to be absent or hiding out, but I wouldn’t automatically treat that as a reason to avoid cellaring. Check again in a decade. Robert Parker
