| Rated 90 - Something new from the mayor is a cuvee sold only in France, the 2005 La Mirande, which actually is outstanding and seemingly more structured and tannic than his other two cuvees that are commercialized throughout the world. It is dark ruby and reveals plenty of black cherry and currant fruit along with hints of fig, licorice, and smoke. It is a beautiful wine, but it could require 1-2 years of cellaring and in this case, would last up to a decade. Robert Parker |
